More specifically, it's a parody of this painting: Venus and Cupid with an Organist. You might well wonder what the Librarian is doing interfering in such an intimate scene, but then - what is the organist doing in the original?

The question about the organist is a good one. Makes just as much sense to have an orangutan there. Though I do wonder if he's got a bag of peanuts waiting in case he gets bored. XD

Of course he must have peanuts! After all, watching members of a different species getting it on can get pretty boring after a while - especially since the Discworld's Second Best Lover might go on for quite some time. And then try harder.
