Disc Fest coming soon
Last autumn, when sign-ups foryuletide (the rare fandoms holiday fic exchange) were just about to get underway, it looked as if Discworld would no longer be eligible as a rare fandom. "Oh well," I thought. "If it's no longer eligible, I can always participate in some long-established Discworld fic and art Fest. However, I couldn't find any such community, so here, then, is Disc Fest - an anonymous (gen, het, and slash) fest designed to encourage the creation of fiction and art based on characters from Terry Pratchett's wonderful Discworld series.
* Mirror communities have been set up on LiveJournal and Dreamwidth (I'd encourage everybody to subscribe to both communities if possible, but all fic and art will be posted to both comms when the time comes)
*Starting Saturday, the 7th of May, posts will be made on both communities , soliciting prompts for this year's Fest. Note: you do not have to be a member of the community, nor do you have to participate to leave prompts.
*All prompts will be collected and organized for a Claiming Post, scheduled for May 25 (i.e., the Glorious 25th of May!)
*Prompts can be claimed from 25 May through 1 June, 2011 - and all prompts will be available to artists and authors alike.
*The deadline to submit all Fic and Art is 20 July, 2011, and the header all participants need to use is here :
Header Template
Note: I'll be removing artist/author names from the headers for the first week to preserve the illusion of anonymity.
*27 July, 2011: Disc Fest goes live!
*3 August: Authors and Artists names will be revealed.

I ask because I've love to participate, but I have 2 stories due in June and so I'm reluctant to commit to anything else yet. I fear that if I choose a prompt before finishing those projects then the idea might run away with me and I'll end up writing 20,000 words about the librarian (or something) instead of the help_brazil fic I've promised.
